COPRON REACTION TANK

FIGHT MACRO FOULING

WITH IONS

The COPRON REACTION TANK is an extremely versatile anti-fouling system that can be custom designed and constructed for sea water circuits on newly built or existing ships and on FPSO and FSO units.

The COPRON REACTION TANK system is based on dosing of cuprous ions produced through ionisation of copper anodes. Copper and aluminium anodes are housed in the treatment tank together with a stainless steel or iron cathode electrically connected to a main control panel that impresses a direct current on them. This impressed current delivers cuprous ions and aluminium hydroxide in solution.

This ion solution flows through a system of pipes on the cooling circuits, preventing organisms from taking root and development of biofouling in exposed areas. The COPRON REACTION TANK anti-fouling system is also used as an anti-fouling and anti-corrosion treatment on scrubbers.

The COPRON REACTION TANK can be installed on deck or in the engine room, where it is easy to replace depleted anodes without waiting for dry-docking, performing the operation when the ship is at sea.
