Our Commitment to Digital Inclusion

Azienda Chimica Genovese S.r.l. (hereinafter also known as “ACG”) firmly believes in an open, fair, and accessible web for everyone. Although our organisation does not fall within the subjective scope of the regulatory obligations set out by the Law of 9th January 2004, No. 4 and subsequent amendments, by Legislative Decree 106/2018 and Legislative Decree 76/2020, by EU Directive 2019/882 and Legislative Decree 82/2022, by Legislative Decree 76/2020, and by the AGID Guidelines and other applicable regulations on this matter, we have voluntarily chosen to take steps to make our website, www.acgmarine.com, as accessible and usable as possible for every user, including people with disabilities.

This commitment does not stem from a legal requirement, but from our belief that digital inclusion is essential for a fairer society and for ensuring a better user experience for everyone who visits our pages.

This accessibility statement applies to the website: www.acgmarine.com

Adopted Reference Standards

To guide our accessibility improvement process, we have chosen to adopt nationally and internationally recognised principles and technical guidelines. Our goal is to ensure that our website complies with the accessibility requirements established by:

  • The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, with the goal of achieving “AA” compliance.
  • The four fundamental principles of accessibility, as also outlined in European legislation (EU Directive 2019/882):
    1. Perceivability: Information and user interface components must be presented in forms that users can perceive (e.g. offering text alternatives for images and other non-text content).
    2. Operability: User interface components and navigation must be operable (e.g. by ensuring that all functionality is accessible using a keyboard).
    3. Understandability: Information and user interface operations must be clear and understandable, for example, by using straightforward and simple language.
    4. Robustness: The content must be robust enough to be reliably interpreted by a wide range of user software, including assistive technologies.

Current Conformance Status

This website is:

  • In the process of full accessibility: We are actively working to achieve full accessibility with the requirements mentioned above, even if they are not mandatory in our case. Most of the site is already accessible, but some areas are still being improved. Specific areas and reasons for any limitations are described below.

Limitations and Areas for Improvement

We recognise that achieving full accessibility is an ongoing process. Despite our efforts, some temporary limitations or parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible. These may include:

  • Third-Party Content: Certain content or components embedded on our site (e.g., interactive maps, social media feeds, or external widgets) may not be under our direct control and, as a result, may not be fully accessible.
  • Historical Archives: Documents or sections of the site published before the adoption of this policy may not have been fully adapted due to technical complexity or the effort required. We are evaluating how to make the most relevant information accessible. This content remains available, and information contained within it can be requested through our feedback process.
  • Document Formats: Certain documents in formats such as PDF may not yet be fully optimised for assistive technologies. We are working to replace them or provide accessible versions.

We are committed to progressively reducing these limitations through a continuous improvement plan.

Measures Taken to Ensure Accessibility

Our commitment is reflected through the following actions:

  • Inclusive Design (“Accessibility by Design”): We integrate accessibility requirements from the very beginning when designing new sections or features of the site.
  • Ongoing Training: Our development team, content creators, and communications staff receive regular training on the principles and techniques for creating an accessible web experience.
  • Regular Audits: We conduct periodic checks, using both automated tools and manual testing, to identify and address accessibility barriers.
  • Adoption of Technical Standards: We write code that complies with web standards (HTML, CSS) to maximise compatibility with browsers and assistive technologies.

Feedback and Contact Process

Your feedback is vital in helping us to improve. If you encounter any accessibility issues, experience difficulties using part of our website, or would like to provide suggestions, please get in touch with us.

To help us address your concerns efficiently, please include the following in your message:

  • The URL of the page where you encountered the issue.
  • A description of the problem encountered.
  • Your operating system, browser, and any assistive technologies you are using.

We are committed to reviewing all reports and providing a response within 30 days.

How to Report an Issue

  1. Initial Contact: Send your report to the email address above.
  2. Internal Escalation: If the response is unsatisfactory or you do not receive a reply within 30 days, you may contact our User Experience Manager at the address doldif@acgmarine.com for a case review.

Please note that, as our adoption of accessibility standards is voluntary, the formal appeal process with the Italian Digital Agency (AgID), which is required for legally obligated entities, does not apply. Nevertheless, we are fully committed to resolving every report internally and finding appropriate solutions.
